A critical role in Kids in Tech’s effort to engage, build confidence and inspire curiosity in our students.

The Program Manager is a deeply empathetic and charismatic individual who thrives in fast-paced and ever-evolving environments. We are looking for someone who is an exceptional communicator and details-oriented to lead Kids in Tech’s afterschool tech club program.In partnership with local public and charter schools and other youth serving agencies, we aim to increase STEAM skills in our community. We are strongly committed to making our approach available for the benefit of ALL children across ALL socioeconomic strata in the communities in which we serve.As both an educator and innovator at heart, this Program Manager will contribute to both the design and implementation of Kids in Tech curriculum, pedagogical philosophies, and program policies.

Key Responsibilities

The Program Manager will have significant responsibilities and opportunities to develop plans and strategies to support the holistic growth of Kids in Tech’s young people:

  • Design and develop curriculum relating to job readiness & STEAM projects/experiments and personal development for in person or virtual programs ∙ Research and refine Kids in Tech’s pedagogical philosophy and develop a curriculum model that is sustainable and replicable.
  • Teach and lead workshops, sessions
  • Create lesson plans, learning materials, assignment materials, and more for afterschool tech club program
  •  Program Manager should expect to teach approximately 1-3 hours each day Monday- Thursday
  • Effectively support and create a healthy and safe learning environment for kids ages 8-14
  •  Assist with the onboarding/recruitment process of young people, volunteers, and other program staff
  •  Provide other Program staff members with insight on young people’s progress, specific needs, and interests.
  • Develop and manage a database of local schools
  • Form and manage ongoing relationships with school leaders/principals to actively recruit new partner schools for Kids in Tech , as well as keep our programs team aware of current partner school and youth serving organizations needs
  • Manage MOUs and service agreements with schools
  • Organize and track all information relating to young adult’s learning, growth, and needs in program
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to devise and implement systems and processes for tracking, sharing and analyzing information.
  • Take initiative to innovate, launch, and rapidly iterate on new program initiatives to support the overall well-being and growth of young adults
  • Collaborate with a small team of other Program staff, delegate work, clearly communicate goals and expectations, and provide frequent and relevant feedback.
  • Report directly to the Executive Director

While a key component of this position is relationship building and recruitment of youth and volunteers, an equally important component will be to put systems in place for Kids in Tech to ensure program’s success in subsequent years.


The About You:

  • You have 1-5 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector ∙ You are well organized, a self-starter, and a strong public speaker ∙ You are able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings
  • You have some experience with zoom, g-suite
  •  You are passionate about the mission of Kids in Tech
  • You speak Spanish (preferred, but not required)
  • A deep passion for working directly with and empowering young adults
  • At least two years of experience in a teaching role (preferred, but not required)
  • Well versed in job readiness and STEAM project based curriculum for kids ages 5-17
  • Quick, nimble learner who excels at mastering new skills
  • Extremely details-oriented and organized
  • Excitement for joining a fast-paced team environment
  • Has worked in a startup environment ( preferred)
  •  Takes an entrepreneurial mindset to problem-solving ( preferred)
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding organization and leadership skills–a demonstrated ability to take initiative, stay organized, delegate work, and support team members in meeting responsibilities
  • Knowledge and experience of data analysis, impact measurement, and reporting ( preferred)

Salary range is $50,000- $70,000
