Club instructors are the cornerstone of Kids in Tech programming. Join us to help shape the tech leaders of tomorrow. Whether you’re a student, professional, or retired, we’ll train you to facilitate Kids in Tech programs.
— No computer science experience is needed!
1.) Sign Up: Tell us about yourself with a brief application and complete a background check. Choose the community venue you want to work in.
* Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
2.) Training: We’ll train you on our Kids in Tech curriculum as well as how to work effectively with elementary-aged children. (Great resume builder!)
“This was a new but very rich experience for me. The students were so nice and very eager to learn new things. It was a real pleasure to work with them. In ten weeks, I taught them how to make their own blogs!”
3.) Teach: Spend once or twice a week for a semester in a community venue teaching Kids in Tech programming! Inspire students to continue the pursuit of technology and computer science skills.
4.) Celebrate! Show off your students’ work and celebrate all you’ve accomplished together with final project presentations.
“I enjoyed working with the young people. Great way to give back to my community. Simply, it was such a fun experience!”
5.) Advocate: Share your experience with your network. Keep in touch with Kids in Tech and follow us on social media! Teach another club and encourage your friends and colleagues to sign up.
