We offer an hourly salary ranging from $17.55 to $28.50, along with benefits, including:

ABOUT THIS PART-TIME ROLE
As our After-school Program Instructor, you set up materials, ensuring students have everything they need to dive into exciting hands-on projects. As your students gather, you foster an environment of curiosity and creativity, encouraging them to ask questions and explore STEM concepts through interactive activities. You capture their progress-snapping photos, documenting attendance, and tracking their engagement. Beyond teaching, you build strong connections-acting as a mentor and role model while working closely with school staff to ensure the program meets students' needs. You coordinate field trips, invite guest speakers, and engage families, keeping them involved in their child's STEM journey.
The part-time schedule:
- Current program year: October 2024 - June 2025
- Teach at a partner site at least 2 days per week during active program weeks
- Attend biweekly check-ins with your direct supervisor

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN AN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
- • 16+ years of age
- • High school diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a high school or college setting
- • United States citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien
- • Resident of Lowell, the Boston area, or has reliable transportation
- • Education or youth development experience
- • STEAM field experience (STEAM major, STEAM clubs, or an interest in STEAM
- • Fluent in multiple languages, preferably Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, French, Vietnamese, Arabic, Mandarin, Cape Verdean Creole, or Khmer
- • Enthusiastic and inquisitive
- • Adaptable, possesses a growth mindset
- • Leadership experience
